BEV, PHEV or EREV: start with how you drive

Three labels, different ownership questions. Build a shortlist around charging access and daily use.

Understand what each label tells you

A BEV runs on battery electricity. A PHEV combines a rechargeable battery with a combustion power source. EREV describes a range-extender arrangement; inspect the actual vehicle architecture rather than relying on a marketing name. Our catalog keeps these tags explicit so a hybrid’s combined range cannot silently become an electric-only claim.

Write down your charging routine

Before sorting by range, list where you can charge, how often you can plug in, and the trips you make most often. Then check the exact model’s charging connector and AC/DC capability in your market. A large battery is not a substitute for a workable charging routine. Keep unanswered questions on your shortlist for a dealer or manufacturer to resolve.

Compare like-for-like evidence

Use the powertrain filter to narrow the catalog, then compare the same type of range and the relevant trim. Do not treat a sales rank as a reliability score, or a specification table as a road test. Chinese EV Times provides research context; a test drive, local service checks and a written offer remain useful next steps.
