The Chinese EV Times editorial desk
Chinese EV Times publishes independent vehicle research under an organizational byline: the Chinese EV Times editorial desk. That byline identifies responsibility for the publication; it does not imply that a named journalist drove every car, that a manufacturer approved our conclusions, or that a separate panel tested the vehicles. The contact responsible for editorial questions and corrections is support@chineseevtimes.com. We do not invent individual author biographies, engineering credentials or owner testimonials. When no individual contributor is credited, treat the page as desk research assembled from the linked evidence. A manufacturer website linked in a dossier is a source, not an endorsement or a statement of affiliation. This distinction matters especially when a vehicle is still a preview, when its export specification differs, or when our only record is a China-market configuration sheet.
Separate sourced facts from interpretation
A useful source answers a particular question. A configuration table can establish a quoted battery capacity or trim price at capture time; it cannot establish durability, repair quality or motorway range in winter. An official launch announcement can establish what a company announced, while a local order page answers whether a particular offer is available in that market. We keep these roles separate. Our analysis explains what a field means for research, including the questions it leaves open. It does not transform a press claim into an independently measured result. Where sources disagree, readers should compare model year, market, powertrain and trim before treating the difference as an error. If those identities cannot be aligned, the uncertainty belongs in the record rather than being hidden behind a confident average.
Keep every number in its original context
Vehicle data retains its currency, sales month and test cycle. CLTC stays CLTC, and we do not create a universal multiplier to turn it into WLTP or EPA. A plug-in hybrid's combined fuel-and-electric range is separate from its battery-only range. A low starting price and a model's highest range may describe different trims, so readers need the corresponding configuration rows before making a price-to-range comparison. Sales are recorded as unit sales under the source's definition. A place in a sales table is not a reliability score, registration count or safety assessment. Missing manufacturer figures remain unrecorded. Petrol comparison vehicles belong to the running-cost comparison set and never enter new-energy catalog totals. Read the methodology and the linked source passport whenever the interpretation of a number affects your decision.
Dates, changes and the data update record
Publication date, event date and source capture date describe different events. Updating a page layout does not make an older sales month current, and rebuilding a catalog does not mean every manufacturer has been contacted again. The data passport below records the actual generated snapshot and its latest sales month. Model pages retain their source and capture context. News reports retain their publication date and, where recorded, a separate event date. This policy was reviewed on 28 October 2026 as part of the privacy and content review. That review added explicit cookie disclosure, deeper brand and guide research, and limits on unreviewed editions; it did not replace the underlying vehicle specifications with new measurements. Further corrections should identify the affected field and evidence so a reader can understand what changed rather than infer it from a generic updated label.
Request a correction or report a rights concern
Send the exact page URL, the disputed field or sentence, the market and model year involved, and a direct source link to support@chineseevtimes.com. Explain whether the source documents an error at the original capture date or a later change; both can matter, but they call for different wording. We assess the evidence before changing a record and preserve uncertainty when a replacement cannot be established. Do not send a password, verification code, identity document or full payment information. For a photograph, include its visible credit or rights identifier and explain the ownership or licensing issue. We do not promise a response time that the publication cannot substantiate. Contacting us does not automatically make a disputed claim correct or authorize us to publish private correspondence. Public comments and unmoderated owner submissions are not offered by this publication.
Advertising, image rights and assistance tools
Commercial relationships must be visible. Advertising does not buy a position in the editorial shortlist, change a source value or justify an unsupported recommendation. The publication currently keeps ad delivery disabled while approval, placement identifiers and certified advertising consent remain unverified. A seller record in ads.txt is an authorization record, not evidence of income or approval. Images have their own evidence chain: we use documented licensed assets and retain source credits, license information and limits on the identified vehicle. A photo without an established trim or model year is an illustration of the model, not proof of the selected specification. The assistant can help navigate records, but its answer is not an additional source. Check the source material if an assistant response conflicts with the dossier, and report the discrepancy through the same corrections address.
Language review and what this site can establish
Language availability is different from completed local-market research. Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic research editions remain accessible, but search indexing is paused while their terminology and local context await review. Short brand directories also remain outside the index until substantive research is available. Publishing a translation does not establish local type approval, charging compatibility, warranty coverage, tax treatment or a service network. We prefer a smaller set of explainable pages to a claim that every translated record is a finished local buying guide. The next verification step belongs to the reader's actual market: obtain a written specification, price and support offer from the responsible seller, and check registration questions with the competent authority. We publish a research starting point and disclose gaps rather than pretending those checks have already been performed for every car and country.
